Welcome to the Kraken-wiki.

Kraken is a reactor analysis computational framework developed at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd.

This wiki will document the development goals of the framework, the developed solvers and their coupling instructions.

Development goals

We'll create the roadmap based on the requirements management and feature design.

  • Requirements management based on regulatory requirements for analyses to be conducted in order to produce a PSAR/FSAR.
  • Feature design based on the identified requirements.
  • Implementation design, i.e. how will the required features be implemented (and to which solver of Kraken).
  • Qualification testing, i.e. how can we be sure that the implemented feature provides the capability that was needed.
  • Documentation including theory manual, user manual and documented software development process.

Codes under development

  • Ants nodal neutronics code.
  • Cerberus multi-physics driver code.
  • Kharon porous medium thermal hydraulics code.
  • Serpent Monte Carlo particle transport code.
